SIR OKO CHUKWU MAKES CASE FOR PATRONAGE OF MADE IN ABIA PRODUCTS.

The Abia State Government has harped the need for state governments to encourage local content through patronizing locally made goods and services.

The Deputy Governor of Abia State Sir Ude Oko Chukwu who made this call when he received a delegation from Abia State Marketing and Quality Management Agency led by its Director General, Chief Sam Hart in his office at the Government House, Umuahia, called on other State Governments to emulate the Abia State example by encouraging their people to produce indigenous and agricultural products that will ensure the States and nation remain self sufficient and depend less on imported goods.

Sir Oko Chukwu expressed delight that all the efforts of the State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu in promoting made in Aba and Nigerian products has paid off as the quality of products made by Abia entrepreneurs can compete favourably with products outside the country.

The Deputy Governor appreciated his boss and Chief campaigner of made in Aba products, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu for his thoughtfulness and ingenuity in championing the marketing of made in Abia and Nigerian products which has earned Abia as the capital of SMES in the country following the huge demands for indigenous products which is the greatest thing happened to the country in view of current developments across the global market occasioned by the Corona Virus pandemic.

He congratulated the DG of Abia State Marketing and Quality Management Agency, Chief Sam Hart for what he and his team is doing in projecting the State’s products through the Agency assuring that he will do his best to sustain his campaign and enlightenment to the people on the quality of goods produced in Abia that can meet with International standards and expressed optimism that with his pedigree the Agency will become one that will be reckoned with in terms of quality of items produced.

Speaking earlier, the Director General, Abia State Marketing and Quality Management Agency, Chief Sam Hart who commended the State Govt for championing and promoting Small and Medium Enterprises said the Agency is committed to finding new markets to products made in Abia State and ensure that they are of the best quality and implored the Deputy Governor to use his various outings to spread the message as an ambassador of made in Abia products.

The highlights of the event was the presentation of goods produced by Abia entrepreneurs and decoration of the Deputy Governor with the made in Abia insignia by the DG of the Agency witnessed by the TC. Chairman of Osissioma Ngwa LGA, Chief Ikechi Nwabeke and aides of the Deputy Governor among others.
