PDP congress; We will not tolerate Imposition and impunity in Abia…Onuigbo.

Abia State Chapter of PDP has urged party members to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner ahead of the ward congress of the party.

The party also advised stakeholders to abide by the zoning arrangement earlier established by the caucus of the Party for peace and growth of the party and ensure that 35% slot already ceded to women at various executive positions of the party at all levels is maintained.

Chairman of the party in the state, Chief Johnson Onuigbo gave the advice at a press conference after a joint meeting with the state congress committee members and the party’s council chairmen on Wednesday at the party’s office in Umuahia.

Chief Onuigbo expressed confidence in the Benson Ezem’s led committee that came up with the zoning arrangement.

According to Onuigbo, State Exco met with chairmen of the party at the councils to brainstorm on a peaceful congress based on equity, Zoning is not new in PDP. We are a product of zoning, and we have directed our people to respect zoning arrangements in their areas.”

Onuigbo announced dates for the congress to be March 14, 28 and April 11 for the ward, LGA and State congresses respectively and said he is optimistic that the exercise would be free and fair.

Onuigbo said that PDP at all levels will not tolerate imposition and impunity.

In his words, ‘adequate measures have been put in place to ensure only competent and popular aspirants emerge at the congresses.

Present at the briefing were members of the Congress Committee led by Arc Benson Ezem, Chief Ndidi Okereke and other party stakeholders.
