ISIALANGWA NORTH/SOUTH FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY REPRESENTATION IN RETROSPECT AND THE GREEDY SON

After the creation of Abia state in 1991 and the military regime, the people of lsialangwa North and South though same local government but for Administrative purposes was divided into two with common understanding when it comes to political office positions and representation decided on a zooning pattern in order to have the two LGA s accommodated.

Though zooning has been a party arrangement but it has sunk into the annals of history in lsialangwa North and South federal constituency.

Between 1999-2003 Late Hon Chimaobi Nwakanma from Nsulu in lsialangwa North represented the good people of lsialangwa North and South federal constituency at the green chamber .

His REPRESENTATION lasted for four years (one tenure) and was moved to lsialangwa south

Between 2003 and 2007 it shifted to lsialangwa south where Hon Damian Anayo Ozurumba from Mbutu took over from the lsialangwa North person .

His tenure also lasted for four years.

In 2007 the pendulum shifted back to lsialangwa North and it was Hon Chinenye Ike from Ngwaukwu la Nwaoha in lsialangwa North, after his first tenure , with the then Party arrangement, the people of lsialangwa North and South generally agreed that he should go for a second tenure not minding that the likes of Hon Damian Anayo Ozurumba, Hon Chinagorom Nwankpa , Hon Darlington Nwokocha, among others came out for same position.

The agreement reached then made Hon Chinenye ike , Hon Chinagorom Nwankpa, Hon Darlington Nwokocha who was representing the people of lsialangwa south at the state House of Assembly then to be free with each other till date.

After Hon Chinenye Ike finished his second term , he came back again to ask for a third term, at this point, the people of lsialangwa in general said no to his third term bid which then favoured Hon. Darlington Nwokocha.

This made Darlington Nwokocha to move to the green chamber after representing the people of lsialangwa in the state House of Assembly for eight years.

Before the lsialangwa agreement was reached, the people of lsialangwa south gathered in Nze B. O Ahuruonye’s house to have a consensuse candidate as the likes of Prof ACB Agbazuere was one of the heavy contenders for same position then.

It took the intervention of the leaders and elders of lsialangwa south to talk to Prof ACB Agbazuere for him to allow his younger brother Darlington Nwokocha go for the position.

Before Prof. ACB Agbazuere agreed to yield to the plea of the leaders and stakeholders, a written agreement came to bear that Hon Darlington Nwokocha will represent the people for only one tenure so that another person will complete the slot of lsialangwa south people in the green chamber as collectively reached by the people of lsialangwa in general .

When the said four years term of Hon. Darlington Nwokocha expired, greed took over him and he started skimming for a second tenure having stayed eight years and four years in the state and national Assembly respectively.

At this point , because of the agreement reached which had it that Darlington Nwokocha will only go for one tenure , Hon Chinagorom Nwankpa, Prof. ACB Agbazuere, Chief Patrick Onwuka and Chief G. C Onyendilefu all from Nvosi came out to contest for the position.

Because of the APC and PDP rivalry at the national Assembly after the then Senate President and Speaker house of Representatives Dr. Saraki and Hon. Dogara had moved over to PDP and attempt by APC to get more legislators to give them the opportunity to impeach Saraki and Dogara, PDP decided to return all their legislators in both lower and upper chambers.

People like Prof. ACB Agbazuere wanted to refuse it based on the earlier agreement that Darlington Nwokocha will only go for one tenure, but the government also urged him to allow Darlington Nwokocha go for a second tenure against the agreement of Nde lsialangwa south which Prof ACB obeyed and also gave Darlington Nwokocha support both financially and otherwise .

Not minding all these , this man that was asked to go for two terms has vine out now and Darlington expects people to come for begging again.

The men that contested with him were left uncompensated .

This time around , based on the arrangements of the Gubber candidate , the people of lsialangwa North have been asked to allow an lsialangwa south person represent them at the green chambers , same Darlington Nwokocha has come out again to contest against his brother Prof ACB Agbazuere.

One will begin to ask where Darlington Nwokocha’s conscience is ?

At this point , we want the government in power, the leaders and elders who were there in Nze B. O Ahuruonye’s house to ask Prof ACB Agbazuere allow his brother go then to come out now to talk to Darlington Nwokocha whose conscience had been sold .

The best time to correct this anomaly is now so that the bloc , LGA, federal constituency will be at peace as always .
