IKPEAZU COMMISSIONS NEW MOLECULAR LABORATORY IN ABA
In line with his commitment to the fight against Corona virus pandemic in Abia State, the Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has commissioned the newly completed the Abia State Molecular and Diagnostic Laboratory in Aba.
Speaking during the commissioning, the Governor stated that the Molecular Laboratory will serve as hope and succour as well as restore the health of its users.
Recalling the events which prompted the construction of the laboratory, the Commissioner for health, Dr. Joe Osuji expressed his delight as the State has achieved another State of the Art Molecular Laboratory which came to be as a result of the Governor’s commitment to the fight against COVID-19, describing him as a health friendly Governor.
The Acting Chairman of Aba South LGA, Evangelist Ogwo thanked the Governor for the choice of Aba South for the project and assured him that the good people of Aba are grateful.
In their separate goodwill messages, Board members of the Abia Development Summit, Professor Sam Erugo and Chief Chris Odinaka Igwe lauded the Governor for his support in the completion of the first Molecular laboratory in Abia State which goes to show his commitment to the welfare of the people of Abia. They also thanked the Abia Development Summit (ADS), a non- partisan organisation and stated their readiness to partner with the Abia State Government in time to come while praying for the completion of other ongoing projects in the State. They stated that the project is an offshoot of the leadership style of the Governor adding that the organisation will continue to seek for government’s support as the laboratory is still work in progress.
Deputy Governor Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, Secretary to Government, Barrister Chris Ezem and other top officials of the State Government, including the Anglican Archbishop of the Province of Aba, Most Rev Dr Isaac Nwaobia were part of the event.
