APGA, ABIA STATE COMMEND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND THE STATE GOVERNMENTS IN THEIR EFFORTS TO CURB FURTHER SPREAD OF COVID 19.

APGA, ABIA STATE COMMEND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND THE STATE GOVERNMENTS IN THEIR EFFORTS TO CURB FURTHER SPREAD OF COVID 19.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Abia state chapter join the secretary general of United Nations (UN) and all well meaning Nigerians to commend the federal government of Nigeria as well as the state governments for being proactive in intervention measures so far taken to curb further spread of this deadly global pandemic virus in our own dear country, Nigeria.

We therefore urge all Abians to as a matter of life and death, strictly adhere and comply with all medical advises and precautionary measures as directed by NCDC to stay safe within this trying period. This is no time to play religion, and ethnic politics because lives of Nigerians are at stake. It will be necessary therefore, that presidential taskforce, the COVID 19 and other relevant federal government agencies, such as humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development under Hajia Sadiah Farouk, who is saddled with the responsible of disbursing the intervention fund and other materials to indigent Nigerians, must ensure they are guided by transparency, equity and not be selective among committee of states of the federation.

While we commend Abia state government and other well meaning Nigerians, Abians both elected and non elected as well as philanthropists and NGOs who identified with Abians in this trying period. We must however advice Abia state government to ensure that all claimed isolation centres are well equipped with all approved medical intervention equipment as directed by NCDC, even as National emergency management agency (NEMA) has directed Abia and Imo states to publish their isolation centres to the public to assist emergency workers and others to be proactive in case of any emergency. This is important.

The state leadership of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Abia state chapter wishes all Abians and APGA family to stay safe, remain patient, steadfast and be law abiding to the government directives even as the lockdown is extended in the interest of all.
