AN OCTANE RATED FAMILY BIRTHDAY EVENT AS NZE OPAH, LEGEND OF OPAH DYNASTY CLOCKS 90 YEARS AND STILL BOUNCING
Nze Joseph Azubuike Opah was born on 1st November, 1930 to the family of late Abraham Orji and late Mrs. Mercy Akugbo Opah of Mbubo, Umunna Nsulu Autonomous Community , Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Abia state.
His late father Pa Abraham was a retired supervisor of works, while his late Mother was a well known hard working peasant farmer.
Nze J. A. Opah attended St. Thomas Anglican school, Umuosu Nsulu, Isiala Ngwa North LGA and St. Mark’s Anglican school, Nsirimo, Umuahia North LGA where he obtained his standard six certificate in 1954.
Thereafter, he moved to Port Harcourt, Rives state to work briefly with a company GB Olivet before he left the job to join the Nigerian Army in 1960.
He had further education training while in the Army as he was enrolled into Nigerian Army College, Kaduna.
Nze Opah retired from the Nigerian Army in 1971 and soon took a job with the Nigerian Ports Authourity,(NPA) Port Harcourt, where he served meritoriously until he left the organisation in 1986.
In 1987, Nze J. A. Opah joined partisan politics and would soon contest election for the councillorhip seat to represent Umunna Nsulu ward two, made up of right villages. He work after defeating five other contestants.
In 2012, Nze Opah he was elected the PDP ward Chairman in Umunna Nsulu ward, Isiala Ngwa North, LGA when the party so much needed direction, cohesion and discipline.
Despite his age, the ever strong looking “Oke Nze” and first Traditional Prime Minister of Umunna Nsulu lived up to expectation as he brought peace, disciplined and United the party all through his tenure.
It is on record that Nze J. A . Opah had played host to two serving Governor’s in his Mbubo Nsulu country home viz:- Chief T A. Orji and Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.
Nze Opah is blessed with Nine Children, sadly he lost three and now left with four males and two females.
His low point in life was when his beloved wife and the mother of her mine children was snatched by the cold hands of death in 2001, a memory he remembers with tears.
Among the surviving Children of Oke Nze J. A. Opah is an illustrious son of Abia state, Chief Eric Opah, MD, hiFortune Global Shipping and Logistics, one of Africa’s leading shipping and logistics service provider.
Chief Eric Chinemerem Opah is worthy son of Ngwa Land and a philanthropist of note that has served his community, Abia and lifted many out of poverty.
The very brief celebration attracted important personalities like;-

Amaechi Nwogbe, Udokanma Onyeonoro, Rev. Dr. Anyanwu Chimas amongst others.
